Updates

Update ready in the palette

WinCraft now tells you about a new version in the palette, and finds it within the hour.

  • An "Update ready" row shows above Recent when a new version is waiting.
  • Enter still opens your top recent item. Press Up to select the update, then Enter to install.
  • The update panel shows the old and new version, what is new, and Open release page (Ctrl+O).
  • Ctrl+Del on the row hides it until the next version.

When WinCraft checks

WinCraft checks every hour, after the PC wakes, and when you open the palette after 15 minutes. Nothing changes while the palette is open.

Download updates ahead

The new setting Download updates ahead is on by default. It downloads and checks the new version in the background. It never does this on a metered connection. So Update takes seconds. It never installs on its own.
