Command palette

New palette with an inspector

The command palette (Win+Alt+P) is bigger now, at 900 × 520. It has an inspector on the right. The inspector shows the details of the selected item and every action with its keys. Press → to walk into the actions.

For windows, the inspector shows:

  • a live preview,
  • the process, monitor, desktop and memory,
  • a "Show on all desktops" switch.

Mark several windows

Mark windows with Ctrl+Space, with Shift+click, or with Ctrl+A for all. Then you can arrange, minimise, move or close them together. Esc clears the marks first.

Scopes

Type a prefix to search in one place only. The prefix becomes a chip.

  • w for windows
  • a for apps
  • ! for commands
  • = for the calculator

Smaller improvements

  • The selected row shows what Enter does, for example "Switch ↵".
  • The calculator answers while you type, for example 12*3. Enter copies the answer. Ctrl+Enter pastes it into the window you came from.
  • The palette learns from your picks and marks the top result as "often picked". Ctrl+Del forgets a pick.
  • Settings moved to a gear button in the footer (Ctrl+,). The hints in the footer follow the selected item.

No results

When nothing matches, "Try instead" offers Ask AI and Search the web. Ask AI opens the AI site of your choice in the browser with your question. Claude is the default. Choose the site in Settings → General.
